The founders and executive team at Finsphere include:

  • Mike Buhrmann, Chairman and CEO: Mike is a recognized entrepreneur and business leader in the wireless industry with over 28 years experience building highly successful companies. He was founder, President and CEO of @mobile, which through acquisition by Software.com and merger with Phone.com, became Openwave Systems, Inc. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors at m-Qube, which was acquired by VeriSign Inc. He was also an advisor to UIEvolution, which was acquired by Square Enix USA. He has held executive positions with both McCaw Cellular and AT&T Wireless and holds more than a dozen patents for wireless telecommunications technology. He was a pioneer in creating the Wireless Intelligent Network (WIN), founded and chaired the Universal Wireless Communications Consortium (UWCC) and sat on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA).
  • Robert Boxberger, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and EVP: Robert is recognized for his expertise in financial services and fraud management. He has more than 20 years experience in credit, collections, authorizations and portfolio risk management. Prior to Finsphere, he was an EVP at Washington Mutual, in charge of fraud strategy and operations for the bank’s credit and debit card portfolio. His experience includes EVP for Portfolio Risk Management at Providian Financial; SVP for Credit, Collections and Fraud Management at Fleet Boston; VP Fraud Policy at Citibank; and VP Credit and Fraud Management at The Bank of New York. Robert has been invited to participate in numerous risk management groups including those of First Data Resources, Experian, and ID Analytics.
  • Steve Anderson, VP of Finance: Steve has over eighteen years experience in finance and administrative management. He has held key financial and operational roles in venture-backed and publicly held companies such as GTE Communications Corp., @mobile and Openwave Systems, Inc. While at Openwave he led the integration and roll-up of the worldwide revenue forecast of Phone.com and Software.com. He has held critical business re-engineering and strategic planning roles for Poplar Point Energy, Inc. and m-Qube, Inc., in its early stages.
  • Chuck Dennis, Chief Privacy Officer (CPO): Chuck has 24 years telecom experience. Prior to Finsphere, his experience includes business planning consulting for m-Qube, which was acquired by VeriSign Inc., along with several product strategy, business development and management positions at @mobile, which through acquisition by Software.com and subsequent merger with Phone.com became Openwave Systems, Inc. At Openwave, Chuck was responsible for implementing and directing a world-wide account management team. Chuck worked at AT&T Wireless Services as the Director of Product Strategy. He holds several patents in the area of wireless telecommunications and is one of the original inventors of Finsphere’s core technology.

The management team includes:

  • Mary Reeder, VP Engineering and Operations: Mary has over 20 years experience leading engineering and operations teams for early-stage and larger technology companies. Prior to joining Finsphere, she served as Chief Technology Officer for HouseValues, a hosted service offering for real estate professionals, where she led the full software product lifecycle, from design through development, deployment and operations. Mary held a similar position for over ten years at Onyx Software (now Consona), where she served as CTO/SVP for Research and Development. Prior to joining Onyx, Mary spent seven years at Microsoft Corporation, where she was a development manager for the initial release of MSN, Microsoft’s first hosted service offering. She holds a patent for her work on the MSN platform.
  • Randall Snyder, VP Wireless Engineering: Randy has worked in the wireless telecommunications industry for the last 24 years. He brings to Finsphere extensive experience as both a nationally-recognized technology expert and senior executive for the development, marketing and management of wireless technology solutions. He has helped develop a variety of wireless standards and has served as consultant to many top telecommunications companies including Bell Laboratories, AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, AirTouch, MCI, Nokia, Siemens, Motorola and many others. Randy is the author of two highly regarded books on wireless telecommunications technology and has published numerous papers and holds several patents in wireless telecommunications technology.
  • Thomas Ginter, VP Business Development: Thomas brings over 20 years of mobile wireless industry experience to Finsphere in the areas of in product management, standards, and systems engineering. Thomas has extensive experience in bringing the products of early stage start-up companies to market. Thomas’s experience includes senior product and business development roles with Celcore, Ericsson Radio Systems, NovAtel Communications, TenXc Wireless and Wi-Lan, Inc. An author of multiple patents, Thomas holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Calgary and is a certified Professional Engineer.
  • Matt Hall, VP Fraud Solutions Group: Matt has 20 years of financial fraud management experience including customer service, credit risk management and fraud operations management. Most recently Matt lead credit and debit card fraud operations for Washington Mutual Bank. During his 20 year career Matt has also worked with Providian Financial, Bank of America, Bank of New York and Chase Manhattan Bank. Matt sat on the First Data Resources Risk Advisory Group and Experian’s Fraud Advisory Board. Matt is a member of the American Banker Association (ABA) Benchmarking and Survey Research Members Group. For Finsphere, Matt provides global support with Finsphere banking clients for training, implementation and consulting on optimizing the MIP platform for combating fraud.
